Problem

A functioning water filter is something most have taken for granted in developed cities across the world. It has become a natural assumption that a water filter is supposed to be a low-maintenance electrical appliance - install it, plug it in, and you have drinking water available on demand. However, our day-to-day lives are often hectic, and it becomes an easy chore to neglect. By the time we remember to look, the water quality can already be significantly reduced.

Partnered with Utah Tech Labs, the Aquavis project aimed to automate the process of checking the quality of the water filters and reporting it to users using a convenient mobile app - ensuring thousands of households across the United States have clean and safe water in their homes.

IoT solution to monitor your water quality

PCB which uses controllers to fetch sensor data and upload them to the cloud. The backend servers then maintain the collected data and process all gathered information in real time. All it takes is a reliable connection to Wi-Fi in the user’s home to receive notifications if any changes are detected in the system. The app receives continuous updates displaying the latest status of the filter, prompting notifications if a filter needs to be changed.

Users can now trust the app to notify them if any issues arise and enjoy their water at pristine quality.

Business Impact

Overcoming these challenges ensured the successful implementation of a reliable and user-friendly smart domestic water filter system that enhanced water filter health monitoring and user satisfaction. By addressing initial obstacles, the development team was able to create a system that not only provides clean and safe drinking water but also offers advanced features for monitoring the health and efficiency of the water filters. This innovation led to improved user confidence in the system, increased convenience, and ultimately higher satisfaction among customers. The smart water filter system represents a significant advancement in domestic water filtration technology, setting a new standard for reliability.
